Useful things from the net

 

When surfing the net, there are a few programs that will make you life easier and things that are useful to you. The one's we use are listed below and they have a description next to them.

Real Player - This is a program that will play videos and streaming audio files from the internet. It is an essential program if, like us, you like music and want to listen to the music on our music page.

ICQ - This is a chat program that lets you chat to other people. It is very useful and simple to use. It lets you keep in touch with your mates whilst on the net. You can send messages to people when they are not on the net, and they will receive them when they next log on. It lets you chat in real time and has a cool random chat feature, which lets you chat to someone in the world about anything you like.

GetRight- This is a very useful program that lets you pause downloads. So you can download for 15 minutes, then log off. When you go on the net again, you can resume the download. It allows you to spread a large download over several sessions.

Winamp - This is a program that lets you play mp3's. It is the best mp3 player there is and it also plays lots of other file types. There are lots of other plug-in's and skins at the web page which is www.winamp.com . It is probably the most popular playing on the internet.

Yahoo! Pager - This is another good chat program, but it is only really useful if you chat on Yahoo. It lets you PM people when you are not in Yahoo, so you can still chat to your friends whilst doing other things on the internet.
